As a dedicated private practice speech therapist based in beautiful Santa Barbara, California, I have the privilege of working with both pediatric and adult clients. Each session is carefully tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of every individual.

Melissa Johnson is a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist residing in Santa Barbara, California. Melissa holds her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and her Master of Science in Medical Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the State of California.

Melissa has extensive experience working with speech and language disorders in diverse settings.  Melissa began her speech pathology career interning at Providence Regional Medical Center (Level II Trauma Center), the Rehabilitation Institute of Washington (in their post-acute traumatic brain injury program), and the University of Washington’s Autism Center.

Melissa has continued her career in acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, and private practice. She is a licensed SPEAK OUT!® Provider.

When she is not working as a speech-language pathologist, Melissa enjoys paddling outrigger canoes, hiking, and spending time at the Channel Islands.

Melissa is always up-to-date with the latest advances in the field of speech and language pathology by participating in continuing education programs and attending conferences.
